We are the people who climb onto the roof.

Solar Energy is a Kannur installer, not a franchise reselling somebody else's package. The person who surveys your roof is the person who signs off the commissioning.

Our story

Started because too many arrays were being installed badly.

Kerala's rooftop boom brought in a lot of contractors who had never seen a monsoon take a mounting structure apart. We kept getting called out to fix three-year-old installations with rusted rails, undersized cable and no earthing worth the name.

So we built the company we kept wishing had done the job first — one that sizes systems off twelve months of real bills, specifies for salt air because it is nine kilometres away, and stays reachable after the invoice is paid.

Why Kannur works

Twelve months of sunlight, monsoon included.

Average daily generation per kilowatt installed, measured across our own commissioned systems in Kannur district. June and July are the honest part of this chart.

Peak months — 4.8 to 5.2 units per kW Rest of year Annual average: 4.2 units per kW per day

This is why net metering matters more here than in a dry state. You bank surplus units with KSEB from November to May and draw them back through the monsoon. Size the system on the annual figure, not the summer one, and the year balances out.

How we work

Four things we refuse to cut.

Sizing from real bills

Twelve months of KSEB readings, not a guess from your roof area. Oversizing wastes your money; undersizing leaves you paying the top tariff slab forever.

Aluminium, never GI

Marine-grade anodised rails and stainless fasteners, designed for 180 km/h. Galvanised iron is cheaper on the quote and rusting by year four this close to the sea.

Paperwork we own

National Portal registration, KSEB feasibility, net-metering agreement, inspection, subsidy release. Filed and chased by us, included in the price.

A number that answers

Our number is on every page of this site for a reason. Five years of maintenance is included, and you are calling the people who built it, not a ticket queue.

Milestones

Ten years on Kerala roofs.

We grew slowly and deliberately. Every year on this list added capability, not just headcount.

  1. 2016

    First residential install

A 2 kW system in Thalassery, back when net metering in Kerala still needed explaining to the customer and the lineman alike.

  2. 2018

    Commercial & industrial arm

Our first six-figure array — a 60 kW rooftop on a Kannur cold storage unit, and the start of doing proper load studies.

  3. 2020

    In-house structure fabrication

We stopped buying mounting structures and started specifying and fabricating them, because that is where coastal installs fail first.

  4. 2023

    Monitoring on every system

Per-string monitoring became standard on all new installs, including residential. We see an underperforming panel before you see it on your bill.

  5. 2024

    PM Surya Ghar registration

Registered on the National Portal from the scheme's first months, so subsidy filing has been part of the standard residential quote ever since.

  6. Today

    6.4 MW commissioned

Across 1,250 rooftops from Vadakara to Kasaragod, with a maintenance crew that still services the first system we ever built.

How it works

Five steps, about three weeks.

  1. 01

    Free site survey

We visit, measure your shadow-free area, check the roof structure and read twelve months of KSEB bills.

Day 1 · no cost, no obligation
  2. 02

    Design & fixed quote

A layout drawing, a generation estimate for your specific roof, and one price with nothing hidden underneath it.

    Day 2–3
  3. 03

    Approvals filed

National Portal registration, KSEB feasibility and the net-metering agreement — filed and followed up by us.

    Day 4–12
  4. 04

    Installation

Mounting, modules, inverter, earthing and lightning protection. Two to three days on a typical home roof.

    Day 13–16
  5. 05

    Meter & subsidy

KSEB inspection, bidirectional meter, commissioning — then your subsidy lands directly in your bank account.

    Day 17–25
